Magellan on The Golden Hinde

Historical recital accompanied by original music and songs.

This is a story about the journey of the first naval fleet that completed the circumnavigation of the globe presented with captivating original music and songs inspired by Mediterranean rhythms and sea chants. An acoustic soundscape of discovery, exploring Ferdinand Magellan’s personal voyage as a visionary and a pioneer.

‘KAST Art’ is an Anglo-Italian association that organises, promotes, and performs original theatre and music productions focussed on culturally relevant themes.

The Golden Hinde was the first English ship that circumnavigated the globe. Sir Francis Drake, who led the expedition, followed the new westerly route around South America tragically opened by Magellan’s fleet only 60 years earlier. The Golden Hinde is an apt and incredible setting to tell this haunting story of struggles and discovery.
