Group Bookings
Payment
We expect a non-refundable 50% deposit to be paid within 14 days from the date the booking is made. If you are unable to confirm final numbers at the time of booking, we will charge a deposit based on the minimum number required if applicable.
The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to your visit. We are unable to secure your booking beyond the 14 days until the deposit has been paid.
Golden Hinde Limited reserves the right to cancel the booking if payment is not received within these terms.
You can pay your booking via the following methods:
- BACS (preferred method): please use your name/school/organisation and the invoice number as your reference.
Please email us at info@goldenhinde.co.uk once payment has been made with your invoice number and the date of your visit. - Cheque: please make all cheques payable to Golden Hinde Limited and send them to:

Changes to your booking
If you wish to change the number of people attending, you must do so in writing at least 30 days before your booking.
If you are making changes within the 30-day period prior to your booking we are able to raise a separate invoice for any additional places, however, we are unable to give refunds for any cancellations within this time period.
Any changes to your booking may be subject to an admin charge of £20.
Please bear in mind there is a minimum charge required for the tours and other programmes. Please email info@goldehinde.co.uk if you have any questions.
Cancellations and Refunds
Please let us know in writing as soon as possible if you need to cancel. No refunds can be given for cancellations made less than 30 days prior to your scheduled booking.
If a cancellation is made before 30 days in advance of the scheduled booking, we will keep the non-refundable deposit and return the rest of the balance.
In cases where payment has not yet been received we reserve the right to charge the 50% non-refundable deposit.
If cancellation is due to unforeseen circumstances beyond your control we will look at rescheduling your booking for an alternative date. If no alternative date is convenient, we will retain the deposit to cover our costs and return the rest of your payment.
If the cancellation is made by Golden Hinde Limited, you are entitled to a full refund.
Safety on the Ship
Individuals or adults accompanying school groups are responsible for the safety and behaviour of children/students at all times during the visit.
The Golden Hinde are not responsible for any injuries incurred during the tours and programmes onboard the ship unless the accidents arise from negligence on the part of The Golden Hinde or its staff.
We recommend that all schools carry out their own risk assessment to ensure any special needs of the students are covered.
All persons onboard the ship must abide by the SHIP RULES which will be explained on the day of the visit:
- Ascend/descend stairs facing towards them (like climbing a ladder)
- Mind head on gun deck (very low)
- No running anywhere on the ship
- Do not pull/climb any ropes
- Decks may become slippery when wet (rain) and extra care must be taken
- No more than 6 on gangway at any time
- Children must be supervised at all times
