Laura Loriga & Sons of Viljems Double Bill on The Golden Hinde

Laura Loriga has developed her work between Italy and the US in the past fifteen years, and her songs are based on piano, organ and voice, a series of darker compositions close to folk and classical tradition as well as to experimentation.

She has also been collaborating in the years with several artists, among which Jaye Bartell, Giardini di Mirò, Leo-Z, Adam Moseley, Grimm Grimm.

In a world of relentless acceleration, Sons of Viljems dictate a slow pace. Instead of choosing bulk editing and standardisation, they chisel every song to the last detail. They let every composition seat and simmer until it becomes part of their life.

Their sound is obscure, eerie, evocative. It swims in tar-black dub bass lines, it suggests quasi jazzy/ world music atmospheres, disturbing echoes, and reverbs, touching melodies and relentless grooves.
